The first harpsichord workshop with young stars!

By chance, I could give a little workshop for the young talented Japanese pianists. 

They came to Germany as exchanging program for young artists, 

and they were all keen interesting players.

Although the conditions were very difficult to manage

-unbearble hear- we had a great time to work together. 

They are "the hope" in our world!

ひょんなきっかけで、日本の若い才能あふれるピアニストたちを招いて
チェンバロワークショップを行うことになった。
彼らは若者のためのExchangeprogramでドイツに演奏旅行に来ていて
１４歳から１９歳という年齢にもかかわず、非常に興味深い演奏家たちであった。

コンディションは、信じられないような暑さで素晴らしいとは言い難かったものの
私たちはともに素晴らしい時間を過ごすことができた。

彼らは、この世界のまさに希望だと思う。
素直にそのまま音楽を愛し続けて欲しい。

Pizzicato Barocco

.......had a little concert with fantastic atmosphere at the tiny city, end of Aachen.

This gave me great energy for the next :)))))

私たちは、アッヘンのはずれにあるとても雰囲気の良い小さな町でコンサートを行った。

この事は、次のコンサートに向けて素晴らしいエネルギーを与えてくれた。

Although it was duo concert, Mandoline and Cembalo, we got a funny leaflet.

This also became our nice memory.

このコンサートはラダ知人のオーガナイズで
チェンバロとマンドリンのデュオコンサートだったのだが
ホテルのオーナーは何故かチェンバロコンサートだと勘違い。

ともあれ、ラダとのコンサートはいつも楽しい。
ありがとう。

Finalist Kano !

I took a part of the international early music competition in Japan,

 as you know I am not anymore in a competition age, but I was asked to come there for a friend.

He is Kano, met him already 6 years ago in Norway. 

Both of us, first in Norway ...and I remembered very well, the day when  I arrived to Trondheim. 

Whole Norway was just in panic because of the horrible mass-shooting - many children were killed by a crazy man. And the whole country was just a mess.

So it was quite a memorable situation, as the first time in Norway, and during course we spoke a lot, and helped each other. Since then, we meet every year at this course. 

(At the same time I met my "destiny" person, but this is another story ;))

When Kano asked me to take part, of course I said "Yes". It was no-reason to refuse him.

We worked together several times in Germany and fly to Japan. 

I was expecting this competition -better organising as Japanese, but it was just a mess!

We could not have any rehearsal, no try out of harpsichord, even for the final stage, we had to play with out any acoustic-check. The whole organisation was slightly a pity,

 but he went at least to the final stage. It made me relived.

Although he didn't get any prize, I believe his performance made a nice impact to the audience, because he knows how to enjoy music. 

I would say " Congratulations! Well done" and wish him a lovely future in his life!!

Anyway, thank you Kano for giving me the opportunity to play together in Japan!

ご縁があって、今年は山梨で毎年行われている古楽コンクールに参加してきた。
ご存知のように、私はすでにコンクールの年齢ではないのだが、
私の友人である今田利くんに伴奏を頼まれたのである。

私たちの出会いはノルウェー・６年前に遡る。
お互い初めてのノルウェーであったのだが、その年は実に衝撃的であった。
私がトロンハイムに到着した時、ノルウェーじゅうがただただパニックだった。何故ならば、気の狂った若い男が銃を持ち、若者たちの集まるキャンプ会場で乱射し、無差別殺人を行ったからである。あらゆる交通機関が麻痺し、国全てがまさに混乱であった。
この忘れがたい状況の中、私たちは古楽コースに参加。
お互い、つたない英語でコニュニケーションに問題があったため
助け合い、一緒に演奏し、また様々な事を話し合った。
以来、私たちは毎年、ノルウェーで再会している。
（この年、私は私の運命を変える事になった人物に出会うのだが
それはまだ別のお話。。。）

その彼に伴奏を頼まれたとあれば、ノーと言うはずもなく
ドイツで数回リハーサルをした後、日本で合流した。

日本のコンクールということで、私としてはきちんとしたオーガナイズを期待していたのだが、残念ながらイタリアを思い起こさせる状況であった。
ステージは、予選と本選のみ、リハーサルなし、音響チェックなし、正直、こんなめちゃくちゃなコンクールはないな、、、というのが感想である。

ともあれ、利君はファイナルに進出。
８０人の中からファイナリストに選ばれたのだから、私もほっとした。

残念ながら、賞は取れなかったものの、彼の演奏は良い印象を与えたと思う。
彼の素晴らしいところは、音楽を楽しむ事を知っているという事だ。
だから、私は彼に心から賞賛を送りたい。
おめでとう利君。
素晴らしい未来があなたを待っていますように。
